Definately not like it was when I played. Then, you HAD the top three vote getters making 1st,2nd, and Honorable mention respectively. Of course, that was back in the seventies.

And how Dakota Cantrell didn't make first team is way beyond me! That is really sad. IMO, he was the "glue" that held that team together as well as could be done.

No offense to Myron but he wasn't the best LB on his team. He played DL a lot, it's a joke. Makes you really question how some of these coaches vote on this, I'll vote for Billy if you vote for Tommy...........

Taking off my PV glasses for a moment why is Bolling not on the list anywhere on the offensive side of the ball?

All the coaches are doing is diminishing these awards. It's a joke to make all-district or get any type of P.O.Y. awards when they do stuff like this.

    Re: all district football

Where is the Utillity Player of the Year? Most Conferences have that position. Devin Elswick has been there when needed for Clintwood. He's a good running back, linebacker, and he is also a good kicker???????????????????????????????????????????? ??

    Re: all district football

I just kind of think it seems sort of odd. Going through the list, if there was no misprints, here are the totals I got (I may have messed up, there could have been some players listed wrong or someone left out, its happened before). Some players were listed more than once and if someone was given an outstanding award, I am considering them a double or triple or whatever winner.

    Clintwood had 15 players represented

Heath Counts, Ryan Lyle (x2), Russell Hull (x3), Chris Robinson (x4), Nick Robinson, Derek Robbins (x3), JD Bevel, A. Osborne (x3), John Dotson, Mikel Rose, Cam Vanover, Devin Elswick, Trey Meade, Jacob Robinson, and Tyler Mullins.

    Norton had 16 players represented

Caudill (x2), Steele, Brickey (x2), Miles (x2), Coleman (x4), Madrigol, Godsey (x4), Hartsock, Ward, McGraw, Talley (x2), Hensley, A. Mullins (x2), Sargent, Mazza, and Honeycutt

    Pound had 8 players represented

Balthis, N. Mullins (x2), C. Mullins (x2), Bolling, T. Mullins(x2), Jordan (x2), J. Mullins, and Collins (with all the Mullins I may have screwed up on this one)

Powell Valley had 13 players represented

Kamplain, Pinkston (x2), Miller, Fannon, Lovell, Thomas, Mullins, Cantrell, Burke, Martin (x2), Orr, Barton, and Pippin

    Appy had 8 players represented

Thompson, Adkins, Allen, Byrd, Mitchell, Morelock, Carter, and Hall.

    Kelly had 14 represented

Marks, Bates (x2), Nicely (x2), Cooke, Sproles (x2), Justice (x2), Strength (x2), M. Dotson (x2), Ferell, Williams (x2), Miller, C. Dotson, Harrison, and Kerns.

Now I definitely think its good that there is a decent split, the best freaking player could be on a horrible team, but it just seems wrong that Norton had more players represented. It seems odd that Kelly was 1 less than Clintwood or PV was 2 less.

Just being my normal number crunching self I guess.
What we've got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach, so you get what we had here last week which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it.

    Re: all district football

I can tell you right now, there are a couple on Norton's list that I have no clue how they got there because they weren't All-LPD performers, whether that be 1st, 2nd, or HM. At least in my eyes, I didn't see it.
